These are the lights that are led bulbs and run off batteries and are very bright I will be adding a picture of them turned on at dark so you can see how bright they look outside. We currently have plans to wrap them around the handrail of our front deck so you can see the handrail as you come in the door at night and it is so dark outside where we. I have placed these under the kids beds to see if I could use them as a nightlight for them but they was to bright for them so we will use them outside where they will work well for us. I really love how easy it is string these up wherever I choose with ease and also how easy it is to move them around to different locations. I would have loved to used them on my christmas tree but I prefer colored lights on the tree since it came prelit with white lights. The only downfall to these lights is they do take batteries but we just rechargeable batteries that we can switch out when needed! I also like the different timer settings and that the lights themselves are water proof but not the box that holds the batteries which is helpful for when it rains or if the kids want some lighting around the pool when it gets to the evening time!! here is the functions as provided from the companys site for these bulbs OPERATING FUNCTIONS: These lights have 8 operating functions that can be activated by pressing button consecutively : 1.
